Due to rapid expansion an excellent opportunity is available for a Retail Merchandiser/Channel Manager to join a fast-paced, multiple award-winning company with bathroom and tile showrooms throughout the UK, and a thriving online/ecommerce business. Based in Glazebury, Warrington, the successful Retail Merchandiser/Channel Manager will join the company’s team to work in a happy, stimulating and challenging environment, earning a salary of £36,000 to £40,000 depending on experience.               

As a Retail Merchandiser/Channel Manager you will lead your own team in a designated sector and will accurately forecast trends, plan stock levels and monitor performance. You will play a key role within retail as profits can be affected by how successful the work is undertaken. The successful Retail Merchandiser/Channel Manager’s main duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:                           
  • Planning product ranges, preparing sales and stock plan indications in conjunction with the Buying team
  • Liaising with buyers, analysts and stores
  • Working closely on visual display with relevant parties to decide how products should be displayed to maximise sales
  • Ability to produce layout plans for both stores and websites for products
  • Forecasting profits and sales, optimising sales volume and profitability of designated product areas
  • Planning budgets and presenting sales forecasts and figures for new ranges
  • Assisting controlling stock levels based on forecasts for the period
  • Using computer software, for example, to handle sales statistics, produce sales projections and present spreadsheets and graphics
  • Analysing every aspect of bestsellers ensuring that they reach their full potential
  • Maintaining awareness of competitors performance                               
  • Monitoring slow sellers and taking action to reduce prices or set promotions as necessary
  • Gathering information on customers reactions to products
  • Analysing previous periods sales and reporting on current product lines
  • Indicating required cost prices, stock required, timescales and delivery dates
  • Identifying production and supply difficulties, dealing with any problems or delays as they arise
  • Managing, training and supervising junior staff
To be considered for the Retail Merchandiser/Channel Manager position you must possess the following key skills and experience:

  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills
  • Capability to work well as part of a team and to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand what will appeal to people

  • Creative flair and self-confidence
  • Interest in the company’s products retails may be an advantage
