I am looking to recruit a level 3 Nursery Nurse for a room leader position within the Glossop area, the nursery is looking to recruit as soon as possible and is looking for someone who is confident and who can hit the ground running and to lead a room within the setting.

  • Responsibilities:


  • To make sure you are aware of, and ensure that all staff in your room follow all policies and procedures as set out in staff handbook
  • To ensure that planning is carried out in line with company policy including ensuring staff are given time to do planning and learning journeys.
  • To maintain your own key group and other records within the room including accident reports etc
  • To ensure staffing ratios are maintained within your room
  • To liaise with management about room movements
  • To maintain a clean and well organised room
  • To hold regular room meetings and record these
  • To advise management of any issues within the room or with staff
  • To be the first point of contact in any staff related issues
  • To provide manager information on required equipment in rooms and of any maintenance needed
  • To ensure all health and safety regulations are met
  • To inform manager of any ill child so that they can contact the parents
  • To attend regular management meetings and feedback any issues to the management
  • To ensure a bright and stimulating environment is maintained for the children by ensuring the regular updating of displays, children's work and appropriate arrangement of equipment
  • To work as part of the wider nursery team for the good of the children and the nursery and liaise and co-operate with staff in other areas as needed
  • To keep up to date with current legislation and childcare practices and attend any training as required and ensure any changes are implemented
  • To carry out any other tasks as requested by your manager
  • To be aware of safeguarding policies and procedures within each local authority that they operate and to understand that they are personally accountable for safeguarding children and improving outcome

  • Requirements:


  • Be qualified to Level 3 or equivalent in childcare and education
  • Have a minimum of 1 year's post-qualification experience within a day nursery setting
  • Have a good knowledge of the requirements of the EYFS
  • Have experience of assessing and planning for children's development and maintaining accurate records
  • Be a great communicator at all levels; able to listen, question, understand and respond to children, their families and professional colleagues
  • Have a strong belief that all children deserve the best possible start
  • Have an equally strong desire to improve standards in delivering the EYFS
