API is a leading manufacturer and distributor of foils, laminates and holographic materials.  Operating from thirteen locations across Europe, America and Asia, API provide powerful and high quality brand enhancement, through premium packaging substrates, to the premium drinks, confectionery, tobacco, perfumery, personal care, cosmetics and healthcare markets.   

This is an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact on systems and product quality at API’s manufacturing facility in Livingston.  Supporting a European turnover of £30m p.a. and employing 100 people, the site is already accredited to ISO9001 and ISO14001, is well invested and houses a variety of chemical mixing, high speed coating and finishing equipment.

As Quality Manager your challenge will be to take ownership, drive and further develop quality systems and processes to ensure consistency, sustainability and standardisation which will meet, and exceed customer demands.  Managing a small team, you will help drive a high performance quality culture through education and training, statistical reporting and root cause analysis.

The successful candidate will be a Quality professional, ideally with a Degree and/or formal quality qualifications, with experience gained in a progressive, volume manufacturing environment e.g. FMCG, packaging, automotive, chemicals.  Strong communication skills and an analytical mind are required, along with a good command of statistical and continuous improvement tools.  People, as well as systems focused, you will have proven experience of developing quality systems to enhance performance.
