API Foils

Operational Excellence Leader

Based Livingston, Scotland

£competitive package + relocation assistance where required

API is a leading manufacturer and distributor of foils, laminates and holographic materials.  Operating from thirteen locations across Europe, America and Asia, API provide powerful and high quality brand enhancement, through premium packaging substrates, to the premium drinks, confectionery, tobacco, perfumery, personal care, cosmetics and healthcare markets.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join API’s manufacturing facility in Livingston, at the early stages of their operational excellence journey, and to make a real impact on its delivery and success.  Supporting a European turnover of £30m p.a. and employing 100 people, the site is well invested and houses a variety of chemical mixing, high speed coating and finishing equipment.

You will take a practical, hands on approach to improving the position of the business by leading, implementing and driving operational excellence.  You will challenge accepted thinking and create a culture of ‘lean thinking’ and continuous improvement, focusing on waste reduction, cost optimisation, productivity and quality improvement.   The Operational Excellence Leader will identify the need for, and utilise, relevant CI methodology, co-ordinating and leading multi-disciplined teams to drive improvement and identify best practice opportunities.

Ideally qualified to degree level and with formal CI qualifications/training, you will have an impressive track record of implementing and delivering operational and business improvement, gained in a progressive, high volume, manufacturing environment.  This experience will be combined with exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to lead, motivate and inspire colleagues at every level.

All applications and contact from third parties must be made via our retained Consultants – McCourt Newton.
