Our client is one of the world's most prominent and established manufacturer of convenience foods who operate with a real passion and enthusiasm. Their range of chilled, ambient and frozen products are supplied to the most successful food and retail service customers. Their site in Bow, London is a High Care, Prepared food environment specialising in sandwiches, salads and pastas.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineering Manager to be part of this extremely well established company, leading a team of skilled engineers and coordinating their front line requirements. The purpose of the role is to ensure the demanding production needs of the site are met in the most efficient way possible in line with food safety requirements. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for a team of up to 25 people working on multiple manufacturing units at their site in Bow, London.

Key Responsibilities:
Generating the schedule for the Engineering Departments maintenance and ensuring that the necessary equipment is available for all operations.
Develop, improve and execute the Planned Preventative Maintenance Systems in order to facilitate proactive maintenance on the machinery.
Monitor and observe department KPI's making sure to assign activity and in turn achieve targets.
Responsible for managing plant hire agreements and ensuring their successful implementation.
Report on and monitor the onsite energy usage and initiate controls to promote efficiency of unit consumption in line with the budgetary requirements.
Responsible for developing and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the entire Engineering department.

The Candidate

To be a successful candidate you will possess a proven track record as an Engineering Manager within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment and experience of a multi-skilled engineering function. You will need to be comfortable with making difficult decisions, building engaging and inspiring your team and aiming to exceed the targets set in Bow, London.
You should be IOSH Certified, Legionella L8 qualified and have an understanding of Microsoft and computerised maintenance system. Due to the nature of the role the ability to complete report writing is necessary with budgetary and Project Management skills.

Salary: Circa £60k
