This premier helmet manufacturer has an exciting opportunity for QA Inspector with EMS Coordinator responsibilities to join their Quality Team in Stranraer!.
The purpose of this position is to ensure the quality of company products and processes by performing inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures of incoming materials, parts and components used in the manufacture of company products, partially assembled or finished. Also to ensure maintenance of the Stranraer Environmental Management System by carrying out and coordinating weekly / monthly meetings,audits, document updates, system updates and be an environmental champion on site. Work with the Quality Department to ensure document control ,non conformances and continuous improvement activities are progressed.
Key duties:
- Perform inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies or finished company products.
- Rework or reject subassemblies or finished products as required.
- Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing
- Coordinate calibration of all test equipment and fixtures
- Participate in the construction and/or revision of QAII's for the inspection function, assist in the writing and updating inspection procedures, protocol and checklists.
- Work with production management and Quality Assurance to provide feedback to assemblers regarding accuracy of assembly procedures.
- EMS Document preparation, creation and release.
- Schedule and minute EMS team meetings
- Carry out internal audits & chase outstanding EMS NCRs, Legal compliance audit
- Maintain Utility Logging System
- Drive Continuous Improvement
- Maintain Communication Log
- Prepare Annual review and review of Policy, Aspects and Impacts.
- Organise internal environmental training and refresher covering induction training. Coordinate external training with HR when required.
- Waste carrier licence check
- Solvent usage threshold check.
- Spill Kit Log & Spill Kit Drills
- Log & allocate EARs
- Keep notice boards up to date
Person Specification:
- Working Knowledge of Microsoft packages Excel & Word.
- Good report writing skills.
- General Computer literacy.
- Must be accurate when logging data, taking measurements and recording figures.
- Document control (create, prepare & release)
- Self motivated and ability to work unsupervised.
- Tact and discretion to point out environmental and quality challenges and systems to all colleagues
- Good communication skills are important to motivate others to improve and drive forward the quality and environmental systems on site.
- Have an understanding of the importance of protecting the environment and legal requirements.
- Be able to communicate effectively with colleagues to facilitate meetings and audits.
- Have Database / Administration and Organisation skill
Experience and Qualification
- Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office suite and data manipulation using computers.
- Environmental awareness
- Experience working with and knowledge of manufacturing equipment and measuring devices.
