An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Manager to join a successful and growing food company based in the South West. This role will report to the Technical Manager with responsibility for the Quality Department, and will provide leadership and direction which meets internal and external customer and consumer requirements for service and quality.

The Position

Ensure that procedures and controls are in place to manage food safety and quality systems.

Manage the day to day running of the quality team, ensuring that quality standards are met.

Ensure that activities and documentation on site are clearly understood, managed and accurate so as to comply with relevant industry standards.

Assist in the sourcing of raw materials to deliver products at a quality, to specification and at cost to meet business expectations.

Manage in house and vendor audits and deal with any issues arising.

Support and advise the management and production teams on all aspects of quality whilst making sure that the quality standards are clearly set up, documented and fully communicated within the company.

Ensure that products are safe, consistent and compliant with specifications and regulations.

Identify relevant quality-related training needs and deliver training.

Coordinate quality systems reviews as required.

- Good communication skills, confidence and authority
- Experience of implementing changes to improve QA and QC policies
- Experience in Food Safety and HACCP principles
- Excellent knowledge of manufacturing principles, tools and techniques
- Highly results focused, and with a strong attention to detail
- Strong influencer, able to challenge management and staff where appropriate
- Excellent team player, able to develop strong relationships with colleagues and peers


The basic salary is flexible depending on experience and qualification and the company will assist in relocation from elsewhere in the UK if necessary. This is a permanent full-time position for an ambitious professional manager. Candidates must have good spoken and written English, currently be resident in the UK and be entitled to work in this country.
