An opportunity has arisen for a Care Officer to join a long established organisation that provides education for the young and care for the elderly.  Based in Croydon, the successful Care Officer will join the organisation’s welcoming and friendly team to earn an annual salary of £22,504.  

The organisation are looking for a caring individual who likes working with the elderly, to join their team of Care Officers. The successful candidate will work a variety of shifts covering weekdays and weekends, and will provide support and social activities to 50 residents in sheltered accommodation. The role will also provide support to elderly members of the community who access the new day care service, at the two care homes. The main duties and responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
  • Daily contact and routinely keep a daily log on all individual sheltered residents and maintain detailed care plans.
  • Assist residents with day-to-day matters including, the arrangement of transport for hospital or social visits, personal administration etc.
  • Monitor maintenance and safety matters around the premises and ensure that faults are reported appropriately
  • Liaise with relatives, GP, social services and other professionals on behalf of residents as and when the need for involvement is required
  • Report any matters of concern to line management and/or colleagues, maintaining appropriate confidentiality and sensitivity
  • Actively support all day-care users and ensure full interactions with permanent residents and other staff.
  • Driving of the minibus.
