Instructor/Technician – Motor Vehicle Technology BLUI41581

Our client is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.

Joining them as an Instructor / Technician – Motor Vehicle Technology, you will maintain and repair curriculum vehicles and machinery, prepare and set up equipment for practical teaching and develop and fabricate equipment for teaching. 

Maintaining pressure vessels and lifting gear in compliance with current legislation, you must supervise and instruct students on engineering (motor vehicle technology) section practical work if required and assess students on practical competencies.

You must also maintain equipment and teaching areas in a working, clean and safe condition, transport students and equipment using College vehicles and be available for general repair work and fabrication as required by the Director.

Candidates for this role must have experience of academic support on a workshop environment, motor vehicle and equipment maintenance experience and a suitable qualification in Motor Vehicle Technology at level 3 or above. 

With good interpersonal skills and a willingness to work flexibly in a team, you should have good organisational and administrative skills.  Experience of using purchase-order systems and any welding / fabrication skills would be beneficial.
