Award winning, family run firm in Middlesbrough, seeking experienced Legal Secretary for a part time permanent position - 3/4 days per week on a job share basis.
Salary negotiable dependent on experience: ??16,000+
This is a demanding role within a busy department and previous experience in a similar role is essential. You will be working for the Head of Department who is the firm's Principal.
You should be of smart appearance, enthusiastic, organised and a team player, with excellent levels of typing accuracy. The ability to build a rapport with clients both over the telephone and in person is essential.
Required qualifications, skills and experience;-
1. Legal Secretarial experience, particularly in Criminal Law. Minimum 2 years
2. Experience in audio typing
3. Minimum 65wpm typing speed
4. 4 GCSEs at Grade "C" or above, or the equivalent qualification
5. Excellent organisational ability and client care skills
6. Ability to work under pressure in a busy department
7. Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
9. Able to manage your workload with minimum supervision
10. Good understanding of the Legal Aid contractual requirements and procedures
11. Experience of using a client case management system
