Credit & Customer Support Executive

We are working closely with a not-for-profit organization that is passionate about helping UK entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses. As one of the most successful delivery partners of the UK Government Startup Loan Scheme we have helped 1500+ new and young companies access mentoring, support and more than £15M of funding. We are a successful social enterprise with offices in London, Birmingham and now Liverpool.

To help achieve our ambitious goal of supporting 1000’s more entrepreneurs over the coming years we are looking for a Credit & Customer Support Executive (ninja!) to join our Liverpool office. The primary focus of this role (50%) is to conduct credit assessments of new loan applicants and to assist them through the first stage of their loan application. This is crucial but repetitive work.

This is an ideal position for someone with high attention to detail who is looking to work in an entrepreneurial environment in a high profile startup. You will provide important support to our analysts as they evaluate entrepreneurs and prepare applications for consideration by our business advisors.

Key responsibilities

  • Carrying out initial eligibility assessments on new loan applications
  • Running credit checks on applicants and assessing loan affordability
  • Scrutinising ID documentation and carrying out anti-fraud searches
  • Administering the loan draw down process
  • Supporting our clients and mentors on the phone, via email and in our office
  • Updating and maintaining Excel reports and our Salesforce CRM system
  • Other tasks as directed by your line manager

Preferred knowledge & experience

  • Proficient with web browsers and online information gathering
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook & Excel and using a CRM
  • Knowledge of credit reporting
  • Customer service experience via phone, email or SMS

Competencies and behaviours

  • High attention to detail (as repetitive data entry is required)
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Ability to operate in a busy working environment, handling multiple tasks and delivering high quality results
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Self-starter and strong team player
  • Adaptable & resourceful

As part of the application process you will be tested on your ability to observe and summarize information from credit reports.
