Head of Finance & Business Operations
Based in London
Salary: £70,000 - £85,000 + Excellent Benefits
A successful independent school for 2-7yr olds is currently looking to recruit an accomplished and commercially driven Head of Finance & Business Operations. Offering a competitive salary plus benefits including excellent holiday provisions, this is a fantastic and rewarding opportunity to play a key role in the growth of a forward-thinking institution.
The Role
Reporting to and working in conjunction with the Board of Advisers, you would be tasked with leading on all aspects of finance, HR, marketing, facilities and administration, developing a business plan for the school's ongoing growth and evolution and providing the focus and momentum to operationalise it. In addition to the preparation of statutory accounts and financial forecasting, the provision of HR support, and the management of non-teaching staff, you would be expected to act as an ambassador for the school, communicating with the community of teachers and parents, allowing the Head of Curriculum to focus entirely on the teaching agenda.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an influential individual with a broad commercial acumen and a creative and innovative approach to business issues. You will be ACCA / FCA / CIMA qualified with experience preparing statutory accounts plus an in depth understanding of financial regulations, accounting practices and risk management. A genuine interest in the education and success of young people would be preferred, however experience as a Bursar or school administrator is not required. The school is committed to hiring a strong commercial leader to evolve the business.
Previous experience managing a team is essential, as is the ability to communicate with, lead, motivate and encourage individuals. You will need to feel confident working with senior professionals including headteachers, inspectors, and government officials. You must be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, analytical accuracy, plus incisive strategic thinking.
The Company
An ambitious, innovative and successful independent school in North West London, you would play a major role in helping drive it forward.
The job may be suitable for candidates who have experience as the following: Commercial Manager, Head of Commercial, Finance Manager, Head of Finance, Finance Director, Business & Finance Manager, Financial Controller, FD, Commercial Accountant, Business Manager, Commercial Strategy Manager, Bursar.
