Position: Quality Administrator (Temp Maternity Cover Contract)
Location: Hertford, Hertfordshire

The Company:

Our client is a developer, manufacturer and distributor of medical equipment and services, with offices worldwide and distribution channels in over 100 countries. Their system has three operating divisions: (a) Security, providing security and inspection systems, turnkey security screening solutions and related services; (b) Healthcare, providing patient monitoring, diagnostic cardiology and anaesthesia systems; and (c) Optoelectronics and Manufacturing, providing specialized electronic components and electronic manufacturing services for the Security and Healthcare divisions, as well as to external original equipment manufacturer clients for application in the defence, aerospace, medical and industrial markets, among others.

The Quality Administrator Role:
To ensure the effectiveness and prevalence of the Quality Management System and the Health and Safety System including the organisation’s adherence to the Quality Manual, Health and Safety Manual and supporting Standard Operating Procedures.

This is a full time temporary position lasting approx. 9-12 months based in Hertford, Hertfordshire.

Key Responsibilities of the Quality Administrator:
  • Provide general support to the QA department in all quality-related matters
  • Collation of defect and repair data for presentation at the bi-weekly complaint meetings
  • Handle the return of defective parts back from customers
  • Attend and generate minutes of quality related meetings
  • Help to perform internal audits and any corrective actions that arise
  • Assist the QA department with the management of the Health & Safety System:
    1. Chair quarterly H&S meeting
    2. Weekly Fire alarm testing
    3. Monthly Emergency light testing
    4. Monthly check on First Aid kits
    5. Arranging the maintenance of Fire Extinguishers, Fire Alarm and Emergency lighting
    6. Quarterly check of CoSHH
    7. DSE assessments
    8. H&S inductions for new starters
    9. Focal point for H&S
  • Administration of the Calibration system including the following:
    1. Maintaining the Calibration system (Excel)
    2. Maintaining spare Calibration equipment
    3. Generating list of items due for Calibration
    4. Requesting items from Engineers and supply loan/spare equipment
    5. Arrange the calibration with the calibration house
    6. Sending equipment to calibration house and service engineer
  • General administration duties

  • Methodical and good organisation skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly at all levels and with all departments within the organisation
  • Good level of attention to detail
  • Ability to respond to changing priorities, react to guidance and supervision whilst similarly carrying out some tasks using own initiative
  • Some familiarity and knowledge of ISO 13485:2003 in a medical electronics environment
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail
Other Work Requirements:
  • Administration experience within a medical electronics environment desirable
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety matters is desirable
  • BTEC or similar level of education required
  • If successful, you must be able to provide evidence of your legal right to work in the United Kingdom
