Reporting to: Branch Manager

Working Hours: 44.5 hours per week, 7.30am-5.00pm Monday to Friday (42.5 hours) and 26 Saturday mornings per year, 8.00am-12.00pm

Duration: Permanent

Founded in 1842, Elliotts is one of the oldest family businesses in the South. It has builders merchant branches in Bishops Waltham, Chandler's Ford, Christchurch, Fareham, Fordingbridge, Ringwood, Romsey, Southampton, Tadley and Totton, meaning an Elliotts branch is never more than 20 minutes away from any building site in Hampshire.

Due to our success and growth plans we are now looking to recruit and additional Trade Counter Sales person to join us as our branch base in Tadley.

Our Counter sales people are on the frontline serving our customers, and therefore need to demonstrate the highest standards of customer service.

Trade Counter Sales Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serving customers (both trade and retail) on the counter with a wide range of building materials
• Ordering stock and merchandising the shop
• Negotiating prices
• Providing back up answering the telephone in the sales office
• Taking orders and responding to a wide range of queries from customers

Trade Counter Sales Assistant Requirements:

• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to use Microsoft Windows
• Knowledge of building industry products would be a distinct advantage but training will be provided for the right candidate who shows enthusiasm to learn.
