QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN / TRAINEE TECHNICAL ASSISTANT

SALARY:  £19,000 to £22,000, including weekly bonus, plus pension scheme.

LOCATION: Based in the factory, Near Lewes, East Sussex, you will be living within reasonable daily commuting distance and could be living or looking for work in the Lewes, Brighton, Newhaven, Uckfield, Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, or Crawley areas.

With continuous support and in-depth training provided throughout, in your role as Quality Control Technician / Technical Assistant you will be working as part of a close knit, down to earth, team supporting the busy production department, ensuring their raw materials and finished products comply with all relevant technical specifications and environmental and quality standards, whilst contributing to future product development.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, your broad range of duties and responsibilities will include:

* Collection, testing and analysis of all process materials and finished products.

* Production of daily, weekly and monthly QA reports.

* Assisting the Technical Manager with the annual clay win.

* Packing and dispatching samples and special orders.

* Involvement in Continuous Improvement across the factory.

You will be a highly self-motivated person, good time-keeping, hardworking and committed, not afraid of getting your hands dirty or of hard physical work, but at the same time you will also be able to demonstrate a thorough and analytical approach, have very good levels of literacy and numeracy, and at least basic PC skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word. 

You may already have experience in a junior or trainee position, ideally in an industrial / heavy manufacturing environment, and have a knowledge of Continuous Processes / experience in Statistical Analysis (you may have even studied for level 2/3 ceramics certificate), but your personal qualities and a real willingness to learn, will be your most important assets, as they will determine your potential to grow and develop within the role.  Good communication skills are essential.
