This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leisure operator to manage and develop an already existing venue into a multi-site region.


Working closely with the Management Team on a day to day basis you will be responsible for the smooth running of the core business and delivery at the venue/venues In Wilmslow. A proven Commercial Manager you will be skilled in working with and developing business plans to meet and exceed and companies financial KPI's.


You will also be skilled in leading and motivating a team of swimming teachers both face to face and remotely. As this role requires some teaching hours, you must hold a Level 2 ASA Swimming Teaching Qualification and be an excellent swimming teacher yourself. It is essential that you hold a full driving licence and have your own car.


Commercial/Business Management

• Work with Customer Account Administrators to ensure proactive management of classes, through efficiencies, merging of classes, reducing hours where relevant, extending hours where relevant and with Contract, dealing with transfers, waiting lists and withdrawals. To ensure maximising occupancy and pupil numbers
• Identify other areas of opportunity for additional venues, improved timings and partnership working
• Manage venue expenditure through control of payroll, cost of sale, replacement equipment etc..
• To write, in conjunction with the senior management team a business and a marketing plan for each venue, taking into account the requirements of the Company Business Plan, venue P & L's, budgets and corporate marketing plans.
• To create ways of communicating effectively with customers and staff with a view to promoting the services Swimming Nature as widely as possible
• To provide as required data and information for the Senior Management team, together with the provision of information in line with contract requirements

People Management

This role involves managing the Swimming Nature Instructor pathway which covers their point of entry into Swimming Nature and their personal development. Swimming Nature instructors are the face of the company, being in direct contact with both student and client, it is therefore pivotal that the right calibre of instructor is recruited, trained and managed.
• The recruitment of instructors in preparation for each term.
• Liaising with the Head Office Support teams to ensure instructor compliance.
• Deliver a detailed Induction for new employees.
• Day to day management of the instructor team, including appearance staff, knowledge of product , absences and punctuality, care of students and data entry, HR queries from teachers to mention a few.
• Manage instructor staff hours and schedules
• Highlight potential weakness and inform management/ group training manager.
• Liaise with line manager to sign off probationary and yearly appraisals /reviews.
• Submit accurate payroll data for salary purposes
• Overall development of your teaching team in order to deliver excellent customer service and capitalise on the relationship between the parent and teacher.
• Meeting with teachers to be minuted and recorded accordingly.
• Responsible for management of any performance management issues.

Customer Service and Business Improvement
• Ensure retention of students is based on service satisfaction, including high standard of teaching, progression, reporting for students/ parents, awards and fair customer services.
• Analyse withdrawal rates and act accordingly.
• Improve occupancy and efficiency at all times
• Review and plan pool usage to maximise sales and increase student numbers
• Promote SN at the each centre and its locality according to Swimming Nature marketing plan.
• Follow the marketing calendar and the appropriate marketing plan for each venue.
• Manage course creation to accommodate any demand for each teaching programme
• Periodically review and agree targets with senior management
• Identify other areas of opportunity for additional venues, improved timings and partnership working.
• Deal with any customer service issues as they arise in an organised and timely fashion, in accordance with Swimming Nature SLA's (Service Level Agreements)

Venue Management / Health and Safety

• Ensure that your team adhere and are fully up to date with the NOP and EAP for the venue
• Keep the Compliance folder up to date, including risk assessments, Insurance certificate, etc
• Conduct Venue Inductions for any new staff alongside company induction
• Ensure that the Safeguarding and Protecting Children Policy and Procedure manual is adhered to.
• Ensure all staff are aware of the Diving Policy and its contents
• Ensure all staff are familiar with the Health and Safety policy
• Meet with the venue Manager regularly to ensure collaboration, cross marketing and general relationship management
• Ensure pool etiquette is kept up to date for each venue and all involved are aware and adhere to rules.
• Equipment / Award stock to be maintained and kept to high standards
