Maintenance Assistant

Study Inn has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team based in Cambridge City Centre. You will be on a full time permanent contract, with a highly competitive salary of £8.25 per hour.

As a maintenance assistant you will be responsible for the upkeep and presentation of our Nottingham Centre. This will include carrying out checks on areas of the building as required and tackling maintenance issues causing minimum disruption to our customers. This position is part time  working  40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday. However, there may be the requirement to work weekends during busy periods.

Your responsibilities as our Maintenance Assistant will include:

- Troubleshooting problems as they arise

- Reporting on maintenance issues as required - Including reactive and proactive maintenance

- Carrying out repairs to student’s rooms, communal areas and company equipment.

- Minor repairs to furniture and internal fixtures and fittings including lights and bulbs.

- Assist the centre manager in busy periods with deliveries and goods

- Ensuring that our Health and Safety procedures are up to date and up held to protect you, colleagues and customers.

- Collect and disposes of refuge from buildings and grounds

- Carry out outside work such as cleaning walkways, yard areas and moving equipment

- General knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies

- A fine eye for the detail

- An outstanding can-do attitude and the desire to work as a member of a structured team

- Delivering exceptional customer service to our customers and putting their needs first is paramount

- Carrying out daily and weekly reporting and paperwork

- Receiving post and parcels and delivering them to rooms

- Any other reasonable request asked of you by your manager

To apply as our Maintenance Assistant, you will need:

- Excellent customer service skills.

- Clear communication skills.

- Previous experience of a maintenance or handy person role

- Experience of working in an accommodation environment such as a hotel

- Evidence of success in completing maintenance tasks

- Ideally come with a particular skill or trade but this is not essential

- Impeccable presentation

- An outstanding can-do attitude and the desire to work as a member of a structured team

- A willingness to learn and develop practical skills

- All candidates must provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK to be considered
