Our client is a well-established charity which has been operating since 1981. They provide specialist palliative care and support to patients with terminal illnesses whilst offering vital emotional support for their families thereby aiming to enhance the quality of life of individuals living with a life-threatening, incurable illness. The support they offer is tailored to meet individuals' medical, social, spiritual and emotional needs. We are looking for an experienced Secretary to provide a reception service for the Inpatient Unit.

You will be the first point of contact for all enquiries to the Inpatient Unit and provide a clerical, administrative and secretarial support to the nursing team. You must be able to demonstrate that you can work with sensitive information in a respectful/confidential way and you will also be using a computerised system to carry out your work so strong computer skills are required in the role.

As the successful candidate you will be educated to GCSE Level C (or equivalent) in English, have strong people skills with a knowledge of medical terminology, experience of working in a healthcare setting communicating with patients, family members and professionals face to face and over the telephone, have excellent organisation skills, the ability to work effectively in emotionally demanding situations and secretarial experience.

A Disclosure and Barring Services Check (DBS) will be required.

They are looking to recruit a Secretary working 37 hours p/w or a job share working 18.5 hours each. 5 days per week, ??19,314-??21,993, Or job share of 2.5 days per week, ??9,657-??10,996.50.
