Job Title: SUPPLY CHAIN DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

THIS ROLE IS PART-FUNDED BY THE EUROPEAN REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT FUND (ERDF) AND BY THE COASTAL COMMUNITIES FUND. THE COASTAL COMMUNITIES FUND OS FUNDED BY THE GOVERNMENT WITH INCOME FROM THE CROWN ESTATES MARINE ASSETS. IT IS DELIVERED BY THE BIG LOTTERY FUND ON BEHALF OF UK GOVERNMENT.

Job Purpose:

• To facilitate supply chain development throughout Cumbria, working as part of Cumbria Business Growth Hub through a package of funding streams such as the ERDF Growth Hub project, LEP growth hub service, FEDF Coastal Communities Supply Chain Initiative and private sector funding.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Developing and managing supply chain development initiatives throughout Cumbria

• Engaging actively with businesses of all sizes to identify and support opportunities to develop their supply chain activity and enhance their growth and competitiveness

• Engaging larger businesses in promoting opportunities and requirements through the Supply Chain Gateway and working with them to develop resources

• Establishing and managing supply chain networks and resources, taking forward and further developing Supply Chain Gateway activity, both on and offline

• Driving and supporting engagement and active participation by businesses through events, online activities including social media, and other means

• Encouraging & driving participation in forums, discussion groups & networks, on & offline

• Working actively with Growth Hub advisers to help businesses maximise the benefits of the support available

• Participating actively in relevant bid and proposal development

• Supporting relevant policy and project development

• Undertaking other activities as required to support the work of Cumbria Business Growth Hub and the Chamber

Planning and Organising:

• Planning and organising relevant aspects of Growth Hub and other delivery

Decision making:

• Decision making with regard to the job role within the guidelines and ethos of the organisation

• Gathering, presentation and analysis of information relating to the organisation’s performance against targets

Internal and external relationships:

• Stakeholder management

• Developing and maintaining an effective day-to-day working relationship with the rest of the Growth Hub/Chamber team

• Developing and maintaining good relationships with member businesses, the wider business community and wider partners

• Developing and maintaining good relationships with relevant partners and other stakeholders regionally, nationally and internationally

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed:

• Robust, straightforward, target focussed, enthusiastic and self motivated

• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of partners

• Graduate or relevant experience equating to graduate capabilities

• Good analytical skills, proven administration and IT competencies

• Self-confident, quick learner with potential for further development

• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills

• Strong track record operating in this environment and delivery against targets, including in a challenging commercial environment

• Strong project management skills and experience

• Proven ability to bid successfully for external funding

• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships internally and externally to the organisation
