IT Field Engineer / IT Engineer

This market leader in developing and serving unique solutions to clients throughout the UK is looking to recruit a Field Engineer.

The post holder will be expected to be involved in repairs, complex installations and the planning, preparation and management of a range of company jobs. The role will be primarily based in the Slough office but due to the nature and range of repairs and installation work the post holder must be prepared to work away from home and within a range of locations within the UK.

The individual will be educated to degree level or equivalent, have significant experience within the sector and be able to work to a high standard under minimum supervision. The post holder will be expected to have excellent interpersonal skills interacting with a range of stakeholders in a professional manner. They will be able to manage a range of complex tasks to meet specific deadlines.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

- The ability to use Network tools to investigate, diagnose and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Support the Operations Manager in the planning, preparation and management of a range of company jobs as required.
- Take a leading role in the co-ordination of installations ensuring that work is completed to a high standard.
- The ability to work within a team or alone in the successful repair or installation of projects.
- Liaising with a range of stakeholders to ensure work is delivered to the project specification and within agreed timescales and specified budget.
- Build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders ensuring that customer/contractor queries are managed appropriately and escalated where necessary.
- Ensure the timely completion of all necessary documentation in support of repairs and installations.

Skills and Experience:

- Educated to degree level or other relevant qualifications and/or equivalent of 3 years work experience.
- Significant experience of installing IT hardware/software products.
- Experience of installing data cable.
- Proven track record in the diagnosis and resolution of IT hardware/software faults.
- Excellent verbal, written communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritise a demanding workload and develop creative solutions.
- Professional and friendly approach with excellent relationship building skills.
- High level of personal commitment and standards.
- Excellent troubleshooting and resolution management skills.
- First Aider advantageous but not essential as training will be given.
- Clean driving license.
