You should be able to motivate a team of individuals to meet targets and productivity expectations in line with company goals.  You should be prepared to take responsibility for tracking the attendance and work flow of that team and work alongside the Area Manager (AM) to highlight and rectify issues as they arise.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Help support daily management of department duties 

• Assign work to associates as required/needed to support workflow and daily production goals 

• Assist the Area Manager with taking the daily team brief 

• Assist the floor as an associate resource, training new associates 

• Assist the Area Manager with tracking, trending and reporting of departmental metrics by associates (intent is the sharing of information)

• Assist the Area Manager in analysing and understanding the reasons behind success and failure in meeting departmental goals 

• Tracking, reporting, maintenance of hours and schedules 

• Assist the Area Manager with reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents as required

• Follow up and solve process-related area issues as required 

• Improve flow of product through the area 

• Identify and address safety hazards within the work area 

• Enthusiastically participate in safety initiatives

• Fully understand workflow, daily production goals, and number of Associates present each day. Be accountable for knowing their location at all times. 

Qualifications and Skills

• Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)

• No history of active quality probation or performance counselling for the past 6 months or length of service, if shorter.

• Must be willing to work flexible schedules / shifts

• Familiar with current policies and procedures

• GCSE Maths & English, grade C or above (or qualification equivalent)

• Meets or exceeds departmental production goals

• Role model for safe work behaviours

• Demonstrated problem solving & analytical skills

• Willingness to train and learn new skills

• Coach and mentor others to succeed

• Lead by example

• Able to handle long and short term multiple tasks, whilst working in a high stress, fast paced environment
