Substance Misuse (Recovery) Practitioner (Addiction, Substance Misuse) BLUS29112
Staffordshire West & surrounding area
Salary; £19,691 - £22,278
Full Time – 35 hours per week

Our Client is a vibrant and growing alcohol and drugs charity with over 40 years' experience working with individuals, families and communities affected by addiction.  They promote change and transform lives.  They are evolving in an exciting way, raising their profile as a dynamic values led charity employing more than 250 people who are supported by over 100 volunteers, many of whom are former service users.

They now have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Practitioner to join them where you will work as part of One Recovery Stafford across Staffordshire. Within the role you will provide effective high quality assessments (including risk focused assessments) and evidence based intake services to people affected by substance misuse and/or secondary substance misuse.

As a Substance Misuse Practitioner, you will work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team to deliver recovery focussed, community based substance misuse treatment at the earliest opportunity (including pre-sentence and pre-release from custody).  The post-holder will work alongside partner agencies in Staffordshire to provide interventions to support and motivate service users which meet their needs through their individual recovery journey. You will share our Client’s vision, that each service user has the potential for recovery from substance misuse and will work within a framework that promotes a change and outcome focussed approach.

The role includes working as an integral member of the service in the identification, engagement and management of service users dependent on drugs and/or alcohol. Utilising a range of evidence based interventions, delivered through individual and group work in a range of settings, you will provide and/or facilitate access to services which are responsive to the needs of the families and friends of alcohol misusers.

The ideal candidate would have a relevant professional qualification i.e Diploma in social work or addiction studies OR demonstrable experience and competence of working in the substance misuse field. With relevant knowledge, skills and experience of the criminal justice system you will also have an understanding of assessing individuals’ needs and liaising with third parties whilst providing ongoing support.

Please see job description / person specification for the full and comprehensive details.

Closing Date: Friday 25th September 2015

Successful applicants will be required to consent to an Enhanced DBS check
