Are you passionate about early years education with management experience looking for a role in which you will help you take the next step in your career? We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Deputy Nursery Manager to join a vibrant and award-winning nursery. This is a 12-month FTC role to cover maternity leave, based in the Gravesend area.

As the Deputy Nursery Manager, you will cover for the Nursery Manager in their absence, ensuring consistent, high-quality care and education across all age groups and the smooth running of the nursery. You will be responsible for assisting in managing the nursery team, ensuring the correct staff-to-child ratios are met at all times, and overseeing the weekly staff rota.

The role will see you supporting the delivery of a creative and engaging early years curriculum that meets the needs of each individual child. Promoting positive relationships with parents and carers, ensuring effective communication and involvement in their child s progress. You will assist with staff recruitment, onboarding, and training to ensure a strong, dedicated team, ensuring the nursery meets health, safety, and safeguarding standards, including conducting risk assessments and adhering to policies.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous leadership or team management experience within an Early Years setting.
  • Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Childcare or Early Years.
  • Strong understanding of nursery administration, including staffing and rota management.
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Commitment to safeguarding, health and safety, and early childhood education standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with staff, parents, and external agencies.

This is a 12-month FTC role with a pro rata salary of GBP28,000 to GBP33,000 salary plus competitive benefits.
