Salary: GBP42000 to GBP45,000 + GBP6500 car allowance + 20% bonus

Quantity Surveyor - The Role:

Our client is a successful main contractor with an established reputation within the South West market and beyond. Typical projects are planned maintenance, Fire protection works, de-carbonisation and retro fit contracts, as well as large scale roofing and painting contracts. You will be responsible for leading the day to day commercial aspects of projects within the Fire protection division but no experience is required in this field.

Quantity Surveyor - Typical Duties & Responsibilities:

• Effective management of the CVR process including certification and ensuring efficient income recovery.
• Contributing to teamwork working with clients and subcontractors building on trust, honesty and building in support mechanisms to support colleagues in their tasks.
• Assisting in all pre and post contract quantity surveying duties in the pricing of works and services and the production of tender documentation/schedules of works and any other contract documentation required for the procurement of such works.
• Actively assisting in the delivery of contracts and the recovery of money. Effective management of invoice processing and documentation to ensure efficient income recovery.
• Liaising with the Client, Contract Administrator and appointed subcontractors and accurately valuing in accordance with contract requirements and procedures work properly carried out on schemes and certify payments.
• Maximising the efficiency of the service through the effective management and utilisation of all resources and in conjunction with the Contract Managers, proactively identify problems and where appropriate take action to improve service delivery.

Quantity Surveyor - The Person

• You will have solid experience working a main contractor or potentially sub/specialist contractor.
• Demonstrable experience of working on the commercial aspects including CVR's procurement and commercial reporting.
• Commutable to Plymouth (WITHOUT relocation)
