Job Title: Fitter
Location: Avonmouth
Salary: 17ph + holiday allowance + company VAN (OT available, paid at 25.50ph) while temporary
circa 36,000pa on permanent contract based on 40 hour week (OT and call outs paid at x1.5) while yearly salary reviews
Job Type: Full-Time, Temp - Perm
Shift: 6am-4pm, 4 on, 4 off
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fitter to join our Client's team within the construction production sector. As a Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of plant machinery and equipment used on ourpremises. This is a great opportunity for an individual with a strong technical background and a passion for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and inspections on a wide range of plant machinery.

Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues, and carry out necessary repairs.

Ensure all plant machinery is in safe and operational condition, adhering to safety regulations and company standards.

Keep accurate records of all repairs, maintenance, and inspections.

Liaise with site managers and other teams to ensure minimal downtime of plant equipment.

Assist in the assembly and commissioning of new machinery when required.

Provide technical advice and support to colleagues and site staff.
Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Fitter or similar role, with a strong understanding of plant machinery.

Relevant mechanical or electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).

Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Full UK driving license.
Desirable:
-
Experience working with modern construction plant and diagnostic equipment.

Additional certifications (e.g., CSCS card, IPAF, or LOLER certification).
