Special Needs Teaching Assistant

GBP80 to GBP95 Per day

A fantastic school in Plymouth is looking for a SEND teaching assistant to work with students with autism and behavioural difficulties in a primary environment. The role is initially a long-term temporary position with a permanent opportunity available for the right applicant.

The ideal candidate will need to be a kind, caring and patient individual with a positive attitude alongside experience dealing with challenging behaviours. Previous experience in an SEND environment is preferred but care work experience will also be considered.

You will support children through the school s curriculum with a caring and nurturing approach whilst also building strong relationships with individual students.

To be successful in this role you will need to be/have:

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent with at least six months experience in UK Schools.
• A proactive and child centred approach
• Previous SEND experience / care work experience
• Consistent and firm approach to challenging behaviour
• Ability to transport students in car for offsite activities
• Strong Relationship building
