MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a General Manager to oversee the operations, maintenance SHEQ compliance and performance of an energy from waste power station near Lincoln This

The General Manager will report to the Operations Director and be responsible for the day to day running of the plant as well as long term delivery of all the operations and maintenance activities associated with the site.

As the General Manager you will be responsible for:

• Overall responsibility for the safe, environmental compliance and effective operation and maintenance of the plant
• Leading a team of circa 40 staff including engineers, technicians, operations and site support staff
• Ensuring plant availability, waste throughput and energy production targets being met in a safe and efficient manner
• Maintaining P&L ratios and preparing annual budgets
• Interacting with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure delivery on the sites contractual agreements including the local council and EA etc
• Lead all aspects of staff management including employee development, training, recruitment, and induction
• Identifying opportunities for innovation and process improvement

To be considered for this General Manager role you should have:

• Qualified to degree/HND level in an engineering discipline
• At least 5 years of management experience in the power generation/EFW/biomass sector - Plant, General, Operations or Maintenance management
• Extensive people management and leadership experience at a senior level
• Strong financial acumen and experience of preparing and managing budgets
• Experience with contract management
