Sidney Sussex College is offering an exciting opportunity, seeking to appoint an ambitious trainee commis chef.
As a Trainee Commis Chef, you will be working in a passionate and hard-working professional team to create outstanding culinary experiences for both our internal and external customers. In return, we offer support and development to grow within our business alongside a competitive salary.
The successful candidate will learn how to prepare, cook and present great tasting food from locally sourced fresh ingredients. Training will be provided by an approved training provider to attain national recognised qualifications. Importantly, applicants should possess a passion and willingness to study with excellent communication and team workings skills.
This is a permanent, full time, average of 40 hours per week worked across a 2-week shift system working straight shifts and alternate weekends. The kitchen closes over the Christmas period. Some flexibility is required. The salary for this role is £24,960.00 per annum. Benefits include an annual leave entitlement of 33 days inclusive of bank holidays; a contributory pension scheme provided by the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS), free College meals when on duty and subsidised membership of the College’s gym facilities.
