Job Purpose

To lead and manage the efficient and effective day to day delivery of services in accordance with legislation, regulatory standards, and contractual requirements. To deliver the highest standard of care and support with the aim of achieving outstanding inspections results.

Specific duties

  • Supporting the Registered Manager in running two busy homes (5 beds in total), completing day to day duties as required.
  • Complete managerial role when Registered Manager is on annual leave and/or sickness.
  • Leading by example in the implementation of Active Support & presence with staff team.
  • Extensive knowledge of complex service users & managing/supporting with challenging behaviour.
  • Knowledge of PBS and behaviour analysis.
  • Monitoring payroll systems
  • Being fully aware and compliant of all CQC and Fairmont Residential guidelines, protocols, policies and procedures
  • Partnership working with all professionals involved with Fairmont Residential.
  • Extensive knowledge of CQC fundamental standards and ensuring they are put into practice throughout the home.
  • Completing regular audits within the home.
  • Ensuring we are meeting all key lines of enquiry, working towards outstanding practice.
  • Devising care plans, risk assessments, decision making matrixes and delivering person centred care.
  • Ensuring current legislation and regulation is adhered to and communicated to the team.
  • Working with the various other services across Fairmont to ensure the smooth running of the business and focusing on the growth of the business.
  • Ensuring appropriate staffing numbers are maintained daily and supporting with calls and on call when required.
  • Developing the team to further progress and acting as a coach to really invest and develop the team.
  • Mentoring and supervising the team to achieve personal objectives.
  • Knowledge of DOLs and MCA and ensuring correct protocols are adhered to.
  • Carrying out safeguarding referrals/complaint investigations and ensuring full investigations take place and are communicated to all relevant parties.
  • Working alongside Admin team to ensure all recruit are supported to allow them to have a satisfactory probationary period.
  • Interviewing and making decisions around potential candidates.
  • Ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained to ensure safe practice.
  • To understand the level of commitment required to complete the role.
  • To understand the level of responsibility required to ensure the smooth running of the home.

A Successful Applicant will have:

Level 3 NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care as a minimum and willing to study for Level 5.

3 years' or more of care sector experience.

Direct work with people with learning disabilities, ASD and challenging behaviour.

Minimum 1 years experience of staff management experience including performance management and development.

Good knowledge of legislation and care homes.

Knowledge of Rota Management

Knowledge of Leading a team

Clean driving licence
