JOB DESCRIPTION

THE COMPANY

We are a well-established micro business, operating from modern premises on the outskirts of Kingskerswell.  We have been selling electricity sub-meters since 1961, and have developed a wealth of experience in the metering industry.  We deal with wholesale and trade customers.

THE PERSON

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual, with a friendly and can-do attitude to join us and provide first class office support.  The candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.  With strong prioritisation and organisation skills, you will be expected to work unsupervised and use initiative to complete tasks. This unique role in a micro company will give you the opportunity to put your own stamp on the running and organisation of the office.

THE JOB

The role of this post is to manage and maintain an efficient and effective office in support of the business and primary responsibilities are:

  • Dealing with customer enquiries, providing quotes and processing orders
  • Providing sales and technical information as appropriate verbally, via email and in person.
  • Manage and maintain the financial records of the sales ledger on Quickbooks, including production of invoices, statements and credit notes.  Produce financial reports as necessary and ensure accounts are paid on time
  • Process customers receipts
  • Provide administration support for the Carrier system
  • Manage and maintain a customer database

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Minimum English and Maths GCSE Grades A-C (or equivalent).  It is essential that the candidate has a thorough working knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software and is proficient with Microsoft Office applications, in particular Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.  Previous admin experience or similar in an office environment is required.  Customer service and bookkeeping experience would be an advantage.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The role is based on a part-time, on-site initial 4-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.  The post is 25 hours a week 10am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday with half an hour for lunch (unpaid). There is a possibility of the role becoming full time. The starting rate is £12.31 per hour. Holiday allowance is 20 days per year pro rata (3 of these days are allocated to the Christmas break), plus all statutory holidays.
