Why we want you

We are excited that Harleyford Golf Club are putting on a charity day on the Thursday 13th June in support of Alzheimer's Research UK. Harleyford Golf Club are hosting a charity golf tournament aiming to raise GBP100,000 for vital dementia research. In supporting this event, volunteers will help create a fantastic atmosphere and assist with different elements to ensure the day is a great success all whilst raising awareness of Alzheimer's Research UK's mission to accelerate progress towards a cure.

What you will be doing

Before the tournament tees off roles may include:

  • Parking Marshal - helping participants and spectators park safely.
  • Check in & registration - registering teams, providing them information about the day and selling raffle tickets.
  • Driving range support - monitoring the driving range.

During the tournament:

  • Ball spotting -stationed at a hole watching golf balls and locating them for the players.
  • Refreshments - providing refreshments to participants at the halfway house on the course.
  • Raising awareness - talking to participants and spectators about the work of Alzheimer's Research UK and dementia.
  • Photographer - capturing action shots from the day and taking pictures of each team taking part which will be sent to the teams as a thank you after the event. You may be required in one or in multiple locations to showcase the feel of the event.

Where and when

Harleyford Golf Club, Marlow, Bucks, SL7 2SP.

You will be needed between 08:00-16:00 on Thursday 13th June. There is also an opportunity to do a half day.

Please note volunteer photographers will ideally be needed 08:00- 18:00. Due to the length of the day we expect this role to be split into shifts between a couple of volunteers.

Who

All volunteers must be 18+.

The skills you need

  • Passion for the cause of Alzheimer's Research UK.
  • People skills; an enjoyment of working with others.
  • An organised team player and good communicator.

All volunteer duties are based outside, so you will need to be comfortable in the outdoors and enthusiastic in all weather.
