This site is currently going through its largest growth period since being incorporated and they have just doubled the production capacity at site. They are now looking for someone to lead the new engineering team during the growth period. There is a lot to get stuck into at site, this role is one that you will need to get your hands dirty at the same time as setting engineering standards.

Position Overview: We are looking for a Lead Engineer who is not just experienced in the technical aspects of maintenance but is also passionate about growing alongside the team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who can inspire, motivate, and lead by example. If you are enthusiastic about bringing about positive change, implementing your standards in a newly forming team and driving excellence in maintenance operations, this role is for you.


Leadership and Culture Change:
Champion a culture of passion, accountability, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
Lead by example, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Instill a sense of pride and ownership in team members, encouraging them to excel in their roles.

Strategic Maintenance Planning:
Develop and implement maintenance strategies to optimise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align maintenance activities with overall business goals.
Drive initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance processes.

Team Development:
Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance for professional and personal development.
Identify training needs and implement programs to upskill the maintenance team.
Encourage a learning culture that values innovation and embraces new technologies.

Safety and Compliance:
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and compliance with regulatory standards.
Implement best practices to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Conduct regular safety audits and promote a safety-first mindset within the team.


  • Proven experience as an Engineer & Leader in a FMCG environment
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of leading teams of any size
  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance strategies and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Degree/NVQ/BTEC in Engineering
