Part-time, term-time only (39 weeks per year)
8.45am to 4.15pm, Monday
2.15pm to 4.15pm, Wednesday
8.45am to 4.15pm, Thursday 
Salary: £8,313.06 to £8,783.86 per annum (FTE £22,813 to £24,105)

The College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking Teaching Assistant / Learning Facilitator to join the College’s Learning Support Department. The successful applicant will be required to work with staff and students on a variety of college courses to support student learning, as well as on a one-to-one or small group basis.

The post is available from 2 January 2024 on a permanent, part-time, term-time only basis (39 weeks per year). The hours of work are from: -

8.45am to 4.15pm, Monday
2.15pm to 4.15pm, Wednesday
8.45am to 4.15pm, Thursday 

There is a 45-minute unpaid lunch break each day (36.44%).

Previous experience of working with teenagers is desirable, but not essential. The post holder will spend a significant amount of the working day interacting with students, including covering lessons, so the ability to feel confident in the presence of and communicating with young adults is essential. The role requires an appreciation of working within an educational context supporting learning. 

The post holder will be required to work with students with mild to complex learning needs. Whilst experience in this area is desirable, a basic appreciation is essential. The post requires commitment and flexibility in the approach to work, with the ability to remain calm at all times. You will be required to attend our 3 Open Evenings in the autumn term for which time off in lieu will be given.
