MIG/MAG Welders

Nexus Resource Solutions are excited to be partnering BAE Systems in their recruitment drive to support the Type 26 Warship programme with Welders in the Scotstoun and Govan Shipyards. This programme alone will be running well into 2030 s.

Duties:

Welding different materials (carbon & stainless steel & aluminium)

Welding using different welding processes i.e., Manual Metal Arc, Meta Inert Gas, Automatic & Semi-Automatic Machine Welding (Submerged - Arc & KAT) & Resistance Welding (Stud Welding)

Welding butts and fillets to a high standard

Main process FCAW / MAG - using ceramic tiles

Self-verification on all welds

Adhering to all she related standards associated with welding, including fume control

Skills and Qualifications:

Trade papers e.g. Formal Apprenticeship (required to provide papers)

Ceramic Tile Welding Knowledge

Knowledge and experience in Welding and use of associated equipment

Flux core arc welding experience

Deposit welds that pass both visual and NDE examinations

Materials experience of welding carbon steel thickness 4-10mm range

Clear understanding of SHE, COSHH risks awareness

Background in major construction / manufacturing environment

Welding with MCAW consumables

Welding aluminium with MIG process

Welding with automated equipment

Salary and Benefits:

Dayshift is GBP34,427 per annum or the equivalent of GBP17.89ph

Night Shift and the 3-day weekend shift are paid at a 33% premium. Total salary is GBP45,787.91 or the equivalent of GBP23.79ph

Pension is a 6% contribution with a minimum 4% contributed by the employee

Shift Patterns:

Night Shift - 33% Rate

Weekend Shift - 33% Rate

Day shift - Flat Rate

Dayshift, Monday Thursday,

Nightshift, Monday Thursday,

Weekend Shift, Friday Sunday,

Overtime Pay:

• Mon Thurs 1.33 (Time and a 3rd)
• Friday Time and a half for the first 4 hours, and double time for anything thereafter
• Saturday Time and a half
• Sunday Double time
