42,000 - 44,000 Plus shift pay
Working for a leading plastic manufacturer based in Birmingham.
Permanent Role
Monday to Friday - Nights or Afternoons and Nights - 10pm-6am / 2pm-10pm
Experience and Qualifications required for a Process Shift Engineer in Birmingham
- Level 2 or above plastics training
- Previous technical experience working with multiple injection moulding machines.
- Tooling knowledge of injection moulding
- Robot programming an advantage.
- Materials knowledge for injection moulding.
- Significant experience working in a fast-paced Tier 1 Manufacturing environment.
- High level of Literacy & Numeracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Office packages
Details of a Process Shift Engineer in Birmingham
- Conduct initial Tool trials in plant and develop production process by driving Process Maturation and create Documentation in readiness for production process.
- Provide technical support for assembly processes with a focus to standardised set ups to minimise downtime and scrap.
- Improve process reliability by utilising CI Tools to improve efficiency.
- Conduct standard work process checks each day for both operator compliance and setter compliance to existing standards.
- Act as a link to and liaison with Setter Development and working closely with Setters.
- Documentation of setting and process parameter changes including recording and control.
- Assistance with development of Press Packs with regard to the above documentation.
- Start up and close down injection moulding machines in line with manufacturer's instructions to minimise energy waste and scrap levels.
- Work as a team member of an organised cell unit and maintain full flexibility within the Plastics manufacturing area.
- Provide technical competence to trial new mould tools from 2nd trial onwards and provide report of trial run samples status and remedial work required.
- Make cycle time improvements through CI activities using appropriate tools and methodology.
- Working with tooling to solve issues and improve processes
