Our Douglas-based client are an independent, dynamic business offering a range of business services. As new business demand builds, they require an experienced Finance Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Finance team responsible for maintaining accurate accounts information and reporting.

Role Profile

  • Manage the recording and checking of daily accounting records and transactions and check the same for colleagues
  • Prepare provisional accounts, balances and management reports
  • Daily bank account reconciliation as well as reporting reconciliations
  • Processing data through the sales and purchase ledgers from the point of receipt of the invoice to completion of the transaction
  • Prepare provisional balances and reconciliations with accounts
  • Reconciliation of VAT, purchase and sales ledgers
  • Prepare draft management accounts for Directors
  • Calculate costs and prepare reports on costs and sales for management
  • Assist with credit control function and reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Answering client calls and queries
  • Managing the Finance Inbox for supplier and internal queries
  • Maintain and prioritise your own workload in accordance to the team requirements
  • Ensuring that all work is completed within the required timescales and to the standards required

Candidate Profile

The ideal Finance Officer for this role will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years' bookkeeping experience
  • Experience in a similar position / with similar duties
  • Bank reconciliation and credit control experience
  • Experience of Company dissolutions and liquidations
  • Experience using MS Office Suite and accounting packages
  • Able to work on own initiative to achieve desired results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with suppliers and internal staff effectively
