Window Server Engineer x3 - Dorking GBP40-60k
(Office based. 2 days a week)
We are currently recruiting for Server Engineers and Senior Server Engineers to work in 3rd line support.
You'll be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of our cloud, windows, Linux and networking infrastructure technologies. you'll have overall technical responsibility for the implementation, modification, enhancement, and ongoing support of operating system, as well as the software tools required to manage the relevant infrastructure. You'll also be accountable for providing 3rd line technical assistance for existing and future infrastructure technologies.
As a Senior member of the team you will be responsible for guiding and mentoring less experienced colleagues and supporting their development.
The key accountabilities include;
- Review infrastructure security holes, applies patches, creates console roles and reviews, and creates and installs security packs as needed.
- Implement an enterprise monitoring environment using relevant technologies: (Alert Site / Pager Duty / Microsoft Operations Management Suite (OMS), System Centre Operations Manager (SCOM), Azure monitoring products, Insert networking monitoring tools, etc.)
- Establish foundation for future implementations and automation requirements in the infrastructure, identifies opportunities for automation and develops scalable solutions.
- Develop monitoring, dashboards, escalations and alerts.
- Develop and follows incident management and change management processes; creates run-books.
- Participate in on-call rotations and supports emergency events and escalations.
- Work with the operations team lead to remediate issues.
- Resolve complex system problems affecting business applications and computing services users.
You'll;
- Possess highly developed technical expertise in multiple key operating/networking system or subsystem areas
- Be able to leverage scripting and other tools to automate routine tasks
- Drive resolution of highly complex technical problems
- Effectively summarise and clearly communicate software/hardware problems involving multiple support teams
- Demonstrable related work experience (Wintel, VMWare)
And have experience of:
- Windows OS Configuring & Trouble shooting 2016+
- VMware Virtualisation 6.5+
- AD / DNS / GPO configuration
- ITIL Framework grounding (Incident, Change, etc)
- Azure/Cloud exposure
