The Company
With a brand that's been in existence for over 200 years (yes 200!), my client is recognised as one of the world leaders in the supply, servicing and management of pumps, valves, seals and similar product and services across the globe.

Working within the Oil & Gas, Power, Chemical and Utilities sectors, they've been the go-to firm for quality and environmentally sound products.

Due to a period of sustained and sustainable increase in work, they are now looking to employ a Technical Engineer to provide their services to businesses in the Midlands and the South of the UK.

The Role
This is not a Field Service or Sales role, but you will be working closely with the Sales team to assess the end-users' needs or issues, and then provide a solution. This could mean a replacement unit, a repair or upgrade, or even training for the operators.

This will mean dealing with equipment performance, retrofitting, new installations, and aftermarket services.

As a subject matter expert, you'll be providing clear communication on any solutions to the end-user's issues and managing the process from initial contact to hand-over. This requires you to be able to discuss technical matters in a way that your audience will understand or presenting the solutions to multiple stakeholders or communicating via technology to put across the plan of action.

You'll need to have strong analysis skills (including root cause analysis) and a sound understanding of pump design. So, the ability to read, create and modify engineering design documents is a must.

You'll be dealing with companies generally from the Midlands to the South of the UK, and it's anticipated that this travel will make up 50% of your time, and other than fortnightly visits to the Newark offices, you'll be provided with the technology to work from home.

Finally: this is a technical role where industrial pump knowledge and the ability to provide solutions is key. You'll be a super-communicator who is able to manage their time effectively, and who customers feel confident discussing engineering matters with.

The Person

To be considered you will need to have a few things in your locker. These include:

Ideally qualified to degree level within a relevant mechanical discipline, or equivalent vocational certification and relevant experience
Solid knowledge and experience of pump engineering (analysis, design, practical applications)
Proven analysis techniques and the ability to record and report relevant data

An understanding of root cause analysis on pumps and seal systems
Proficient use of the English language - technical and conversational - and the ability to create effective reports, recommendations, or records utilising modern I.T systems
Proven experience of managing your own diary and being a self-starter.
A full UK driving licenceRewards
