Vehicle Technician
Lyneham
GBP30,000 - GBP32,000 + Benefits
Introduction
We are looking for a Vehicle Technician to join one of our clients, who is a large defence company based in Lyneham. As a Vehicle Technician you will assist the Senior Technician with the maintenance and repairs on all types of military vehicles, tracked and wheeled, from Land Rovers to Battle Tanks.
Roles & Responsibilities
As the Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for:
Conducting in depth diagnostic, engineering, and electrical work on wheeled and tracked vehicles
Inspecting, servicing, repairing and maintaining a wide variety of vehicle platforms
Reading and complying with technical modifications to DSEME vehicles and associated training aids
Read and utilise repair manuals, spares lists and modern diagnostic schematics through modern media assets as required
Complying with and conducting servicing, repair and maintenance activities IAW AESP's, AESP 601's Table 7 and all other associated or relevant publications
Ensuring all JAMES Job Cards are completed accurately and correctly
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in Vehicle maintenance and repair
Diagnostic Technician qualification or significant proven diagnostic experience
Hold a current category 'B' license
Competent at utilising laptops and diagnostic computers
Good understanding of MS Word and Excel.
You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
