Technical Trainer

Location: Stewartby (near Bedford) Please note that this location is scheduled to open in August 2022. The successful candidate is required to start immediately.

Salary: GBP40k plus Company Car

Hours: Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week (Full Time)

Our client is currently looking to recruit a Technical Trainer to join the team at the Mazda Academy in Stewartby (nr. Bedford).

Working at the brand-new state-of the-art, dedicated Mazda Training Centre, the Technical Trainer will be responsible for delivering a range of engaging and informative training programmes to the UK Mazda retailer network. The role will also include aspects of course development and design.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, and with significant new investment in the training centre, facilities, and equipment it s an exciting time to join the brand.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver core technical and project-based training programmes, via a range of forums including attended Classroom/Workshop training, Virtual Classroom, and Film/Live Broadcasts

Deliver highly engaging, learner-focused training programmes and contribute to their continuous development, with a high focus on existing and emerging learning technologies

Demonstrate Mazda brand values in all activities and interactions, advocating the brand in everything that you do

Work with the wider Training and Development team to seek continuous improvements with a focus on learner outcomes and experiences

Undertake design and development work as and when required

Undertake all aspects of training administration in relation to training delivery as required, including completing course rosters, pre-course and post-course briefings and checks, assessments, and certification

Maintain accurate and up to date reporting in line with programme requirements

Work collaboratively with the brand, retailers, outside agencies and professional bodies to ensure qualification and/or training programmes meet their qualitative requirements and ensure quality assurance procedures/policies are up to date, suitable and effectively delivered

Maintain own professional expertise and keep up to date with the latest developments; undertaking training and development directly relevant to the profession, attending internal and external training as required

Support any programme administration activities are required

Attend factory or brand led events as a representative of the brand including train the trainer events and new product/technology launches

About you

Level 3 or equivalent Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (Essential)

Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Experience and/or Professional Qualification (Desirable)

Existing Technical Training and/or Coaching experience, and linked qualification (Desirable)

Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PTLLS, TAP) (Desirable)

Recent Automotive workshop experience, and professional qualification (Essential), ideally gained in a manufacturer workshop environment

Maths & English GCSE Level 4/C or above (or equivalent) (Highly Desirable)

Demonstrate an outgoing, enthusiastic, and confident personality, with a desire to engage with people

Have a passion for developing the skills and knowledge of others.

Strong communication (written & verbal) and organisational skills

Excellent time management

The ability to communicate with a variety of people at all levels of an organisation

Able to maintain a professional manner at all times

Demonstrate a pro-active can-do attitude

Good attention to detail

A proficient user of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
