We are now looking for two Site Operatives to join our Carmarthen campus on a full time, permanent basis.

THE ROLE

You will be responsible for maintaining the security of UWTSD premises and the environment. In addition, depending on Rota and need, you will be expected to carry out caretaking duties, security, and minor maintenance, as well as other general duties required by the role. General caretaking duties such as shifting furniture and packages, litter picking, leaf clearance and maintaining the general cleanliness of the University environment will also be an integral part of the role. You will be required to travel between university locations using University Vehicles as required.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered as a Site Operative, you will need:

  • Good general level of education
  • Valid full driving license
  • Willingness to undertake First Aid at Work
  • Experience in providing grounds and minor maintenance service
  • Ability to identify potential risks and undertake risk assessments, provide excellent customer service, demonstrate effective organisational skills, apply attention to detail and meet tight deadlines
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Good IT skills (training will be given on University systems)
  • Demonstrates self-motivation and ability to work unsupervised
  • Able to work as part of a team and in partnership with others
  • Demonstrates appropriate confidentiality
  • ble and prepared to work flexibly, including travel between campuses

It would also be beneficial if you had:

  • Valid first aid certification
  • Fire Marshall Level 2
  • Previous experience of working in Higher Education
  • Experience of providing security services in a similar environment and of switch board service
  • Understanding of a Planned Preventative Maintenance
  • Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh – oral and written
