WHAT TO EXPECT

The Opportunity

The Global Purchasing Architecture team are looking for a PMO Lead to support Global Purchasing s digital transformation. This role will support the development of the Global Purchasing Digital Plan and will specifically be responsible for designing, implementing and running the PMO governance and associated PMO activities to ensure the successful delivery of the Digital plan.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Primary point of contact for Global Purchasing Digital roadmap on all PMO related activities
• Ensure project adherence to quality standards, gateways, RAID management and report cadence
• Provide support and coaching to Project Managers and team members on the PMO gate process helping to prepare them for key gateways and in addition helping to define appropriate gate exit timelines
• Provide support and training to Project Managers and team members on the Purchasing digital transformation PMO Tool kit including but not exclusive to the artefacts and systems
• Review gateway checklists at the commencement and conclusion of phases in readiness for gates
• Collaborate with Project Specialists/Managers to share best practice and process improvements to ensure efficiency of project management tools and support the roll-out of any improvement initiatives
• Facilitation and coordination of the relevant governance forums
• Management of required governance, including but not exclusive to; milestone reporting, project status reporting, financial reporting, resource management and risk and issue management
• Report on key programme metrics as defined by the area
• Development and maintenance of the chosen system solutions enabling the successful running of the PMO Team and its customers
• Work on projects and work streams; from scoping to delivery and including cross-functional engagement and stakeholder management - where applicable
• Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested


WHAT YOU LL NEED


Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
• Good understanding of Project Management principles and methodologies
• Excellent organisation skills, forward planning and structured in approach
• Effective stakeholder management at all levels
• Demonstrable experience of process improvement and working in a project support role
• To be proficient in the use of Excel and other tools to create reports and analyse data
• Effective communicator - able to present to senior levels of the organisation
• Ability to work under pressure


Desirable:
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Previous experience of working in a Project Management Office in a large company
• Previous experience of working on projects from inception through to delivery
• To be proficient in all O365 applications
• SharePoint, JIRA, Plan View, Tableau experience
• Knowledge of JLR Purchasing systems and processes
