We've got a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Compensation Specialist to join us on a fixed term basis for 12 months with possibility of extension, working at the forefront of re-designing and delivering our approach to compensation management. You'll be based in our modern head office in Basingstoke with flexibility for a blend of remote working.

The role

You will be partnering with the business and People team to develop a range of compensation solutions that are aligned to the total reward and People strategies, supporting the delivery of the Corporate Plan. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading on the design, development and delivery of job architecture and job family frameworks that support career development and compensation structures
  • Leading on the design, development and delivery of compensation structures including pay structures, allowances, and incentive schemes
  • Working with the People Development team to support the design of the performance management framework which links to reward outcomes and supports career development
  • Preparing, analysing and modelling complex data to support effective decision making and recommendations
  • Overseeing the development of the desired market positioning for Sovereign's pay and total compensation by selecting, sourcing and analysing market competitive data
  • Creating compensation policies, procedures, and guidance documents to make sure robust governance is in place to support the people team and business

What we need from you

You should have demonstrable experience of translating reward strategy principles and operational requirements into the design and delivery of performance driven, competitive compensation frameworks.

You'll be comfortable working with a range of stakeholders at all levels and working within an organisation going through significant transformational change. We're also looking for:

  • Proven knowledge and experience of compensation design, analysis and delivery for pay and incentives
  • Experience of using job evaluation and benchmarking survey tools. A working knowledge of Willis Towers Watson surveys, Global Grading and Compensation software is desirable
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills, attention to detail and experience of working with complex data
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple projects, having a clear view of the sequencing of work
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to quickly form effective relationships with multiple stakeholders at various levels
