The Early Years Alliance is looking for a highly skilled Early Years Leader who will support our settings in the Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and surrounding area to deliver high quality early years education and care and meet the charity s mission to create better futures for children and families, particularly those living in areas of disadvantage.

We are looking to recruit a Childcare Operations Manager to join the Children's Services Department covering Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas (travel to nurseries and pre-schools will be a key requirement of the role).

Alongside the Children s Services Manager you will lead the development and growth of our early years settings in the above areas, championing high quality and creative early years practice.

The Childcare Operations Manager will provide leadership, direction and support to managers to ensure all designated settings within area of remit are financially sustainable, are operating in line with legal requirements and meeting the Alliance National Standards. Main duties:

  • Inspire and lead your team to deliver high quality early years education and care.
  • To provide regular human resources, finance and quality improvement updates/feedback on nursery performance to the Children s Services Manager.
  • To proactively manage all Setting Managers performance, carrying out induction, regular accountability meetings, supervisions, probation reviews and annual performance reviews, and setting clear work and development objectives.
  • To inspire all early years managers/teams to establish and maintain effective learning through a culture of creativity and innovation within each setting.
  • To ensure that quality is maintained at a high standard and that settings achieve at least a Good Ofsted Inspection.

Essential criteria:

  • EYP, Early Years Degree or equivalent early years and childcare qualifications at Level 6.
  • Full and relevant early years qualification.
  • Proven, current experience of empowering and supporting quality improvement in settings to secure and maintain at least a good or outstanding Ofsted inspection outcome.
  • Recent experience of effective management in an early years setting.
  • Proven ability to work with key stakeholders including local authorities and volunteers to coordinate and drive quality improvement.
  • Experience of effective budget setting, monitoring and action planning.

Hours per week: 35

Weeks per year: 52

1st stage interview: Monday 19th September 2022 (you will need to be available to visit an EYA setting in your local area - location to be agreed if your application is successful)

2nd stage interview: Thursday 22nd September 2022 (virtual interview with our panel via Microsoft Teams)
