Purpose of Role

• To assist in the delivery of the Region's land acquisition to meet the Region's business plan and future growth requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Take a 'whole company' perspective to the performance of the regional business by positively influencing and enhancing the profitability and operating effectiveness of the business.

• Assist in land acquisition / procurement, as per Group policies and processes to meet the Region's business plan.

• Source and secure land effectively for the immediate, short and medium term via the development of agent contacts; planning leads, methods of formal and informal tender and 'off market' land procurement.

• With the approval of the Snr Land Manager/Land Director produce and present land offers and negotiate best possible terms.

• Assist in achieving planning approvals, working with third party providers and with internal departments.

• Support the department to achieve and maintain a high profile with external property contacts, working relationships with local authorities, local agents, land owners and other developers within the Region's operating area.

• Assist the department in the process of determining, agreeing and delivering site start programmes and development programmes within agreed timescales.

• Actively manage communications and operational interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the Regional business plan.

• Assist in the production of effective and relevant legal documentation for each development or phase of development.

• Ensure that the Company maximises its compliance with Group product and specification.

• At all times comply with responsibilities under the Company's Health and Safety and Environmental and Corporate Responsibility Policies and all other company policies, procedures and instructions

• Any other duties as reasonably required.

Qualification / Technical skills / Experience / Knowledge

• A relevant qualification or experience in land acquisition and procurement.

• A basic network of contacts.

• An understanding of the legal and planning frameworks associated with land acquisition

• Basic Technical and legal knowledge and Financial / Commercial awareness

• Basic awareness of codes of practice that impact on land acquisition and planning matters e.g. Planning Policy, Systems and Frameworks, both locally and regionally, land purchase and disposal legal models, structures and mechanisms

Performance Measures

• Assist in the preparation of key business information.

• Follow Group Land acquisition policies and processes.

• Support the implementation of the department plan which achieves the Regional business strategy.
