Puddle Jumpers is looking to recruit an experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to work alongside the current Deputy Nursery Manager and Nursery Manager. We are expanding our Management Team who between them will be an instrumental part of developing our thriving 90 place setting in Limehouse. Puddle Jumpers is building its identity ready for its second launch, a 120 place design led nursery in a beautiful building in trendy Wapping. We then have plans for more growth, so this is a real opportunity for the right person who is looking to progress whilst we grow.

What are we looking for in a Deputy Nursery Manager?

Driven, positive, knowledgeable. Our Deputy Nursery Manager has a make it happen attitude, can pull up their sleeves and get stuck in when needed, possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written and be passionate about staff development. They have a great balance of driving the performance of the nursery and caring about the team, and subsequently have happy team members who are in this journey with them for the long term. Puddle Jumpers is a busy environment and the candidate should be able to prioritise workload.

Main Duties of Deputy Nursery Manager include but are not limited to:

To have collaborative responsibility for creating an inclusive and positive environment where staff, children and parents can thrive.

Support Nursery Manager in overseeing operational management of the nursery under the EYFS Statutory Framework and Ofsted requirements

Ensure all company policies and procedures are correctly followed in the nursery and adhered to at all times

Ensure that the safety and welfare of children is paramount

Lead with organisation of staff rota's, manage relationships with temp agencies and bank staff and ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained in line with the nursery and Ofsted requirements

Accountable for the development, retention and happiness of the team

Risk assess daily ensuring that the team understand what is expected of them to keep everyone in the nursery safe at all times

Manage stock control and ordering process

Work on a shift pattern within the nursery's opening hours (7am-7pm) with the ability to attend out of hours meetings and events as required

GBP30,000-GBP35,000 depending on experience

Essential Experience & Skills Required:

CACHE / NNEB/ NVQ level 3 or equivalent

Minimum 5 years post qualification experience

Minimum 1 years management experience

Significant and recent experience of working with children aged 0 to 5 years.
