Mech Tech Professionals is actively recruiting for a permanent Planning Engineer for our niche engineering client in Avonmouth.
Based at Hinkley Point C for 4 days and Avonmouth for 1 day, the Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining the site project programmes, updating progress and providing daily reports in line with the Contract requirements and internal Company requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
Preparation of schedules in Primavera P6 / MSP for on-site activities in line with team s plans.
Preparation of schedules in Primavera P6 / MSP for workshop activities in line with team s plans.
Provide updates to the schedules within agreed timeframes, frequency and reporting progress to management and the central planning team.
Preparation of site daily reports for manpower, progress, equipment and site statuses.
Preparation of weekly progress reports for ongoing site and workshop activities.
Manage project risks. Highlight issues and hold ups and manage them with the relevant personnel.
Understand schedules of deliveries in anticipation of upcoming materials / products to site and workshop.
Support and manage the project control process to a high standard, ensuring a constant understanding of the project s overall plan and structure.
Ensure adherence to Project Contractual Instructions.
Meet up with the team for on-site and off-site updates on plan and progress.
Have site walk arounds and communicate with the team on progress and issues.
Have weekly workshop walk arounds and communicate with the team on progress and issues.
Support section managers in the production of monthly reports.
Recording minutes for internal and external meetings.
Liaise and work with suppliers and partners on project planning.
To be considered for this role, the following skills and experience is essential
Strong knowledge and experience of using Primavera P6 & MSP
Computer literate (Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project).
Expert in using Microsoft Excel which will be demonstrated.
A knowledge of Project Management protocols and standards.
Knowledge of project planning principles and techniques.
Experience of managing projects
Comprehension on projects life cycles.
Able to communication and interpersonal skills including influencing and presenting
Ability to take responsibility for problems within their own remit and to deliver solutions
Results focused with the ability to meet commitments and deadlines.
Previous experience of working in a multinational team would be beneficial.
