Operations/Production - to assume responsibility for UK
( 2 direct reports - Planner & Production manager )
Working closing with SHEQ manager and reporting to European Ops Director.
To ensure that the factory plans are delivered effectively and efficiently.
To ensure that all key critical skills are identified, and a plan is in place to de-risk.
To always maintain the highest housekeeping visitor ready standards.
To ensure each workstation is measured against the plan daily and performance issues identified and prevented.
To issue a daily, weekly, and monthly production performance status report.
Identification and removal of non-value-added activities.
To ensure work instructions are robust and effective.
To ensure all returns/customer complaints/technical queries are thoroughly investigated.
To ensure all SMV s are verified throughout the production process - audits be carried out.
To deliver the agreed factory budget.
To ensure assembly lines and cells are efficiently organised
Lean Philosophy
Introduction, implementation and maintenance of a sustainable continuous programme and culture, with lean principles and the use of kaizen teams to identify improvements and improve key processes.
To implement formal Kanban systems into all production areas to control line-side parts replenishment.
To deliver high visual management standards, eg: shadow boards, master samples, cell boards, work instructions, training matrices.
Planning/Capacity Management- to assume responsibility for UK
To own and automate the internal planning process and ensure the latest sales forecasts are used to satisfy customer demand and to manage individual workstation capacity, highlighting and escalating any potential risks and/or bottlenecks.
To ensure jobs are raised and issued to the factory in a timely manner.
To act as the conduit between Sales & Production and organize priorities in line with Sales expectations.
To ensure that sheet metal consumption is reconciled accurately, and all scrap is recorded.
To ensure that finished orders are completed on the system on a timely basis to ensure accurate stock positions are continually maintained.
To ensure BOM errors are captured and fixed.
To work closely with production to challenge & verify the current known SMVs and measure the actual efficiency of each process, ensuring all products have approved and robust SMVs for all areas of the process.
To report upon factory utilization, daily output & efficiency, and daily dispatches versus the plan.
To measure, achieve and maintain consistent OTIF levels of 95% minimum across all areas.
To maintain agreed component parts, packaging and finished goods stock levels.
To ensure stock rotation is in place to minimise SMOI levels.
Able to identify and deliver process, systems, and efficiency improvements.
To ensure that the required import declaration checks are carried out for each imported delivery.
To plan and execute regular (monthly) perpetual inventory counts of key stock items.
To lead the operational side of the company stock count process, delivering a high level of efficiency & accuracy.
