A Good rated special school in Hackney is looking for a SEND teacher to join their friendly, dedicated team for the new academic year.
About the school
This special school, based in Hackney, is in a brand new building with impressive facilities to ensure the best learning experience and progress for the students. Facilities include a hydrotherapy pool, soft play areas, sensory rooms and large outdoor space. The multi-disciplinary team are clearly dedicated and passionate about their roles at the school and are offered excellent training and progression opportunities, such as Team Teach, first-aid, epilepsy training, PEG feeding and hoist training.
About the class
The class you will be working in is a class for the sensory learners in which a framework is provided in line with developmentally appropriate stages. The primary need of the students in the sensory learners class is PMLD (profound and multiple learning difficulties) and students are taught in a range of different areas such as communication, mobility, cognition, social and emotional regulation and behaviour
The ideal applicant will:
• Have QTS (essential)
• Have experience as a SEND teacher/in a SEND school
• Have experience working with children and young people with PMLD
• Be available from September for the whole academic year (temp to perm contract)
• Be able to work full-time
• Be passionate, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about SEND and development
• Be reliable, flexible and committed
