The team works on a cross-functional basis across the Infrastructure, Innovation & Planning and the Operations Directorates. Day to day engagement is required with various teams including, Customer Projects, Engineering & Asset Management, Current Networks, System Integrity, Customers & Connections and PMO.

The Dublin programme consists of 7 major cable and 7 major station projects.

The role in the team is as a Project Manager whose main purpose is to take responsibility for delivering of a range of projects during the Project Development phase to approved schedule, budget and quality requirements.

The role will involve a combination of office based working and site visits to both existing and new substations and transmission circuit sites.

Duties and Responsibilities

There will be a requirement to support the current team with particular reference to the following areas:
Demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative work environment.
Demonstrate enthusiasm to drive development and delivery of large infrastructure projects
Identifying and managing Stakeholders, and ensuring regular and timely communications at all levels;
Ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders;
Ensuring that appropriate project controls are in place within the team having regard to budgets, schedule, scope, quality risk and other performance indicators.
Preparing and updating formal project progress reports such as monthly reports including financial, budget and project schedule reporting
Ability to analyse issues, exercising judgement to make decisions and escalate as appropriate
Support improvement of processes, procedures and systems
Development of governance papers and reports to support the approval process
Managing Risks and Issues and escalate appropriately;
Preparing and maintaining project documentation, including Risk Register, Issue Register, Daily Log, etc.;
Managing Change Control procedures and Programme Governance and ensuring Project Boards are set up and working effectively; and
Adhere to policies, guidelines and standards in relation to Project Management.

Essential Requirements

You will have an engineering / technically biased degree ,or equivalent relevant experience, typically with 5+ years in project development.
Formal PMP or like qualification or evidence of working towards one
Power system or regulated industry expertise, utilities / construction experience along with the ability to adapt, innovate and meet changing demands;
Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop, communicate and "sell" programme objectives;
Knowledge of the industry, environment and context, experience working within a similar regulated utility environment and/or experience introducing new concepts, processes and ways of doing things would be beneficial;
Excellent communication and written skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience;
Commercial awareness with the ability to make decisions and recommendations in all aspects of project implementation; and
Full, clean drivers licence.

Desirable Requirements

Experienced with construction/operations of High Voltage Substations

Knowledge of outage management requirements in a Substation and/or Power System environment

Candidate from any of these areas: Transmission PM, Overhead Lines, Substations, Underground Cable, Wind Farm, Solar, Battery, Grid Connection, Utilities, Electrical Engineer will be highly sought after.
